Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a set of organizational and workflow patterns for implementing agile practices at an enterprise scale. The framework is a body of knowledge that includes structured guidance on roles and responsibilities, how to plan and manage the work, and values to uphold.

Course Description

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) helps businesses address the significant challenges of developing and delivering enterprise-class software and systems in the shortest sustainable lead time. It is as an online, freely revealed knowledge base of proven success patterns for implementing Lean-Agile software and systems at enterprise scale.

SAFe synchronizes alignment, collaboration, and delivery for large numbers of Agile teams. Scalable and configurable, SAFe allows each organization to adapt it to its own business needs. It supports smaller-scale solutions employing 50–125 practitioners, as well as complex systems that require thousands of people.

A Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) is a Lean-Agile change agent who works with Lean-Agile leadership to set the SAFe vision for the organization, show others the way, and remove impediments to change. An SPC brings organizational credibility to SAFe implementation; has the expertise to make fast, intelligent decisions; and helps implement specific process changes in the enterprise. Often, an SPC trains others in Lean-Agile ways of thinking and operating, applying a new style of leadership that truly teaches, empowers, and engages individuals and teams to reach their highest potential.

SAFe 5 Program Consultants (SPC) become trainers with SAFe courseware, coach teams, launch Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and enable a Lean portfolio.

During this four-day course, attendees will learn how to lead a Lean-Agile transformation by using the practices and principles of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and the seven core competencies of the Lean Enterprise.

Attendees will practice how to coach programs, launch Agile Release Trains, create a DevOps culture to build a Continuous Delivery Pipeline, and empower a Lean Portfolio.

The first two days of the course—Leading SAFe—provide the basis to teach SAFe to leaders. The final two days focus exclusively on what it takes to successfully implement SAFe in the enterprise. Becoming a change agent and a Certified SAFe 5 Program Consultant (SPC) enables attendees to coach and guide the enterprise toward success in a disruptive marketplace and empowers them to implement a Lean-Agile SAFe transformation.

Attending the class prepares individuals to take the exam and become a certified SAFe 5 Program Consultant (SPC).
